A NOTE ON ENCOURAGING COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITIES
Note Tracy Worcester’s great achievement – On Wednesday 9th February, we screened our documentary Pig Business in the European Parliament to a packed room of over 280 MEPs, EU Council and Commission officials, NGOs lobbyists and international press. This amazing turnout would not have been possible without the help of individuals and NGOs publicising our event and mobilizing their members, hundreds of whom wrote to their MEPs, urging them to attend.
From the Global Table we are aware of these quite deep stirrings:
– F/u to the submissions to the Independent Commission on Banking
– F/u to the Coalition for Economic Justice’s submissions to Treasury Select Comm.
– Investigations into the legal position of European financial restrictions
– The drive of Positive Money, notably in the student world
– The work of Prosperity UK behind the Bromsgrove annual conference – latest news letter
– The Finance Innovation Lab and work with a dozen Innovation Gps in that network and the specific website of Finance, Philosophy and Finance Innovation group which members of the table are preparing
– The Forum for Stable Currencies – recent HofC meeting
– James Robertson’s Newsletters
– AMI backing the Congressional debate around Kucinich’s NEED Act
– New Economics Fdn’s Great Transition and its satellite activities
– The Systemic Fiscal Reform Gp exploring the relation of land and money
– London Citizens’ city wide network of collaborative groups
– Operation Noah and Ann Pettifor’s Blog
– Transition Towns
– Community Currencies
– Kuala Lumpur Council for Monetary Justice an Institute investigating an Interest Free Economy – Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Indonesia and PressTV etc.
– Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility engaging with Corporates on a range of justice issues
– Just Share
– The academic work of the School of Economic Science – its course on Money
– European, British, American and Asian critiques of the present economic System from a faith perspective
– Henry George Foundation’s persistent work and publications
– Social Credit Secretariat – source of historical insights of contemporary value.
and so many more that I’ve not remembered at this sitting … and others we’ve not known about.
Please report any other encouraging collaborative efforts to which we should be able to refer enquiries
Take heart and work harder, Peter

‘Ecumenical’ means ‘one inhabited Earth’;
never fall for derived and lesser uses,
unless they acknowledge
subordination to that greater context.
Universal’ means ‘all inclusive’;
never fall for universal claims,
unless they clearly
work for everyone and protect the earth.
