‘MATTERS IN THE AIR’
We seek ways to communicate the significance of
- LAND: The economic rent of all nature provided resources to be the source of public revenue
- MONEY: The currency of society is to be issued on behalf of the people of that society interest free [given agreed costs].
- A BASIC MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD for all A welfare security provision in the form of a living income is to be sourced for every citizen as of right—unconditionally.
This replaces the current means-testing bureaucratic arm of the state.

All individuals and organizations, all over the world, are invited to sign a short statement in support of ending all war, and to join in the planning of a new movement to be launched on September 21, 2014. This is the whole statement:I understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. I commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace. d] Just Money: How society can break the despotic power of finance The arrival of political economist Ann Pettifor’s latest book,Just Money: How society can break the despotic power of finance is an important publishing moment, says Ekklesia co-director Simon Barrow. The book unmasks the false ideologies of austerity and neoliberalism, together with our illusions about the very nature of money itself. In that sense, it is an economic text with strong theological resonances. Full article
THE WRONG MOUNTAIN
There was a man,
who could have been
any of us and probably is,
who after a long arduous ascent
full of grit and sacrifice,
glanced back across the horizon,
only to realise that he had
climbed the wrong mountain.
