‘MATTERS IN THE AIR’ ………some of which participants could choose to develop…..*

1. IMMEDIATE SUPPORT FOR ACTIVISTS

Even Margaret Thatcher [sic] got the point we all tend to ignore, because of the grip of false property laws, “No generation has a freehold on this earth. All we have is a life tenancy with a full repairing [and replenishing ?] lease.”

Which leads us to consider:

SOME FUNDAMENTALS FOR INCLUSIVE CREATIVITY IN THE GLOBAL HOUSEHOLD

  • Land as gift
  • Rent as public revenue
  • Debt Cancellation
  • Interest free New Money creation as a public utility
  • Lent as credit under the discipline of nurturing productive creativity in goods and ser vices
  • Means of basic livelihood for all as a platform for the development of each persons unique potential and talents – call it CI, UBI and Social Dividend.

Can you better the wording without lengthening it?  See also c] 2. below.

A THEOLOGY OF LAND

 A COVENANT between GOD and HUMANITY, ensuring that the ever emergent gift of life on earth, might be continuously replenished by our trusteeship and our conscious husbandry of the finite resources of the land.

c] BASIS OF A NEW ECONOMY

Judy Wicks’ 2004 E. F. Schumacher Lecture  on  principles that inspire similar locally-based businesses that treat employees fairly, source materials regionally, and support other community businesses.

“Let me capsulize the local-living-economy movement for you by contrasting what it is and what it is not, what it does and what it does not do:

          ·  maximization of relationships, not of profits;

  • growth of consciousness and creativity, not brands and market share;
  • democracy and decentralized ownership, not concentrated wealth;
  • a living return, not the highest return;
  • a living wage, not the minimum wage;
  • a fair price, not the lowest price;
  • sharing, not hoarding;
  • simplicity, not luxury;
  • life-serving, not self-serving;
  • partnership, not domination;
  • cooperation, not competition;
  • win-win exchange, not win-lose exploitation;
  • family farms, not factory farms;
  • biodiversity, not monocrops;
  • cultural diversity, not monoculture;
  • creativity, not conformity;
  • slow food, not fast food;
  • our bucks, not Starbucks;
  • our mart, not Wal-Mart;
·  a love of life, not a love of money.”
