A core meeting continues on\u00a0Wednesdays from 12noon to 2 pm at the School of Economic Science, 11-13 Mandeville Place, W1U 3AJ \u2013\u00a0now\u00a0hosted by\u00a0the\u00a0Open Research Group. Meetings are open to all on\u00a0a drop-in basis. This weekly forum is a persistent focal point for many who cannot often get to London but are encouraged in bold initiatives by association and collaboration. We all continue to foster the public sense of the search for inclusive justice. We are trying to sense the richness of our networking without overburdening with detail. We collaborate in order that action may flow BOTH in specified targeted initiatives AND in acknowledgement of our shared commitment to ending exploitation \u2013 usury \u2013 now exponentially rampant!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes of ORG meeting on 31st May\u00a02017:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/globaltable.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/OpenResearchGroup-170531.pdf\">OpenResearchGroup-170531<br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong><strong>Notes of ORG meeting on 7th\u00a0May\u00a02017:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/globaltable.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/OpenResearchGroup-170607.pdf\">OpenResearchGroup-170607<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Forthcoming Events:<\/strong> \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/globaltable.org.uk\/wp\/forthcoming-events\">http:\/\/www.globaltable.org.uk\/wp\/forthcoming-events<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>ASSOCIATES AT THEIR POINTS OF WITNESS:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Religious scholars from all schools of thought on Saturday issued a fatwa (religious decree) that declared suicide attacks, armed insurgency against a state and use of force in the name of imposing Shariah as \u2018Haram\u2019 or forbidden in Islam.\u00a0<\/strong>The fatwa carrying signatures of 31 noted scholars was released at a seminar \u201c&#8217;Reconstruction of Pakistani society in the light of &#8216;Mithaq-e-Madina&#8217; (Charter of Madina) and announcement of &#8216;Paigham-e-Pakistan&#8217; (Message of Pakistan). The event was organised by the Islamic Research Institute of the International Islamic University Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St. Gregory the Great on Justice (6th Century) \u00a0with a thought related to what we vote for&#8230;..<\/strong>&#8220;When we administer any necessities to the poor, we give them their own; we do not bestow our goods upon them. You don&#8217;t hear it on the radio or television talk shows. You don&#8217;t hear it in political speeches or in the news. You do hear in all of those places how bad the economy is, and you do hear about all kinds of reasons for why things are so bad and about ways to fix it. But the real reason things are so bad is because of usury. And the reason things aren&#8217;t getting any better is because no one is talking about what&#8217;s really wrong. &#8230;&#8230; What we accept today as interest once was called usury, and that through most of history most everyone was against it. He explains in easy to understand terms how the Bible condemned usury thousands of years ago, and how the Church followed the Bible on this point until our Modern era.
